Francisco Nájera received his PhD degree from the University of Málaga in 1997, under the direction of Professor R. Suau, for studies concerning the synthesis of new protoberberine alkaloids by a photochemical approach. In 1999, he obtained a post-doctoral position at the Université Bordeaux-1 in the group of “Photochimie Supramoleculaire” and, in 2001, he obtained a CNRS “Poste Rouge” at the Université P. & M. Curie in the “Laboratoire de Chimie Organique de Synthèse” of Professor M. Malacria, working in asymmetric synthesis. Since 2002, he is Associate Professor at the University of Málaga
